Events at VHBG
Events are one of the most fun and most impactful ways to support Virginia Home for Boys and Girls. They bring people together around a shared purpose: creating safe, stable, and inclusive spaces where young people can learn, heal, and move forward.
Our flagship event, the VHBG Golf Classic, is also our largest fundraiser of the year. Funds raised help fuel housing, specialized education, and mental health supports for the young people we serve on campus and beyond.
Whether you golf, sponsor, volunteer, or host your own event, you become part of the team surrounding young people with care and opportunity.

Now in its 37th year, VHBG’s Golf Classic continues a long-running tradition that blends competition, camaraderie, and community impact. Over the years, the tournament has featured separate men’s and women’s divisions, on-course contests, raffles, and more, making it a favorite among local golfers and corporate teams.
At Hermitage Country Club, players enjoy 36 holes of premier golf in a beautiful private setting just outside Richmond. It is an ideal backdrop for a day that feels like a celebration for golfers and for the youth we serve.
What You Will Experience
• A full day of tournament play at one of the region’s premier private courses
• Separate Men’s and Women’s Divisions for friendly competition
